The Humane Society & SPCA of Hancock County, located in Findlay, Ohio, is a non-profit organization committed to the safe and humane treatment of animals within our community. Each year our organization houses nearly 1,000 animals in our shelter where they receive high quality food, loving care, and proper medical attention.
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers are trained how to evaluate animals for behavioral and medical issues, and they work diligently to find each a compatible home. Animals awaiting adoption receive regular attention and exercise and are housed in kennels that are cleaned daily.
We are one of the few shelters within Ohio to also have an animal control enforcement division. These officers do the important job of investigating and, when appropriate, prosecuting animal abuse within our community. They also respond to calls from residents concerned with animals running loose or which are unlicensed.
To sustain our organization, we rely exclusively on donations, grants, and fundraising events. We do not receive any tax money nor any financial support from national organizations. We rely on our community for support to continue our mission of humanely providing for and protecting unwanted, lost and abused animals in our county. The Humane Society & SPCA of Hancock County is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.
