Spay & Neuter Clinic

Overview

Our clinic offers low cost spay/neuter services, as well as the rabies vaccination.  These services may be scheduled by calling our office during normal business hours:  (419) 423-1664.  You may also schedule in person by visiting our shelter operations office at 4550 Fostoria Ave., Findlay, OH.  All surgeries must be confirmed by phone OR in person. Submission of an email request will not reserve an appointment.

Spay/Neuter services do require an overnight stay and your pet must be must be dropped off at our clinic between 3:00 and 5:00p.m. on the day BEFORE the scheduled surgery.  The clinic entrance is located at the 4th door on the west side of the main building (4550 Fostoria Ave., Findlay, OH).  Unless other arrangements are made, pets must be picked up between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on the day of the scheduled surgery.  Please allow at least 15 minutes at time of drop-off and pick-up.

Terms & Conditions

SCHEDULING.  All surgeries are by appointment only. Appointments can be made via phone or in-person.  Submission of an email request will not reserve an appointment.

CANCELLATIONS.  Cancellations must be made by the pet owner within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment or may be subject to a cancellation charge.  Additionally, any pet owner which fails to show for an appointment or fails to give timely notice of cancellation will be required to pre-pay for any future services.

SCHEDULE CHANGES.  Surgery dates are subject to change due to weather and/or veterinarian availability.

PAYMENTS.  All surgeries must be paid in full at the time of drop-off (the day BEFORE surgery). Accepted payment forms include cash, Visa or MasterCard (sorry, but we do not accept checks or money orders).

LICENSING.  If a dog, the pet owner must show proof of a current year’s dog license or purchase a license at time of drop-off. Dog licenses can be purchased for $20.75 (note, depending on the time of year, an additional $20.00 penalty may be assessed).  Note: Cats do not need to be licensed in the State of Ohio.

PROOF OF VACCINATION.  If presenting an animal for surgery, the pet owner must show proof of their animal’s Rabies vaccination (certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian) or must purchase a Rabies vaccination for a fee of $15.00 during time of drop-off.

AGE/WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS.  In order to be eligible for surgery, animals must be at least 4 months old. All cats must also weigh at least 4 lbs.

CONTAINMENT DEVICES.  All dogs must arrive at the shelter on a collar and leash.  All cats must arrive at the shelter in a carrier or humane trap.

REFUSAL OF SERVICE.  We reserve the right to refuse service to any animal due to medical condition.  As a matter of policy, we will not operate on animals with heart murmurs or severe upper respiratory infections.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY.  All surgery involves risk.  Being a non-profit organization, and in order to continue our low cost clinical services, we require that all pet owners waive any claims pertaining to injury or death of animals receiving care at our facility.  A refusal to sign our release, will result in a denial of service.
