Surgery Patient Drop-Off Info

All surgery patients need to be brought to the shelter between 3:00-5:00p.m. the day BEFORE the scheduled surgery appointment. The clinic entrance is located at the 4 th door on the west side of the main building.

Surgery Patient Pick-Up Info

All surgery patients are available for pick-up the same day as
their scheduled surgery between 3:00-5:00p.m.

Payment Info

Full payment is due at the time you leave your animal at the shelter for surgery. Cash, Visa, and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept checks.

 

Requirements and Regulations for Public Spay/Neuter Clinic:

  • All surgeries are by appointment only. Appointments can be made via phone or in-person.
  • Animals must be dropped off the afternoon before the day of the scheduled surgery between 3:00-5:00p.m. Spay/Neuter Clinic entrance is located at the 4 th door on the west side of the building. All appointments that do not arrive by 5:00p.m. on assigned drop-off date must prepay before another appointment time will be assigned.
  • ANY cancelled appointment must prepay before another appointment will be made.
  • To receive the 10% discount on 3 or more animals, surgeries must be prepaid at least one week in advance.
  • The 10% discount only applies to 3 or more animals scheduled on the same day, from the same household.
  • All appointments must be paid with cash, Visa, or MasterCard. Absolutely no checks are acceptable.
  • All surgeries must be paid in full at the time of drop-off (the day BEFORE surgery).
  • If a dog, owner must show proof of a current year's dog license or purchase a license at time of drop-off (pursuant to Ohio State Law). Dog licenses can be purchased for $15.75 (additional $15.00 penalty may be assessed). Cats do not need to be licensed in the State of Ohio.
  • All owners must show proof of their animal's Rabies vaccination (certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian) or must purchase a Rabies vaccination for a fee of $15.00 during time of drop-off.
  • All dogs must arrive at the shelter on a collar and leash.
  • All cats must arrive at the shelter in a carrier or humane trap.
  • All animals must be at least 3 months old.
  • All cats must weigh at least 3 lbs.
  • All prices for dogs are based on the weight shown on the scale at the shelter.
  • We have the right to refuse any surgery due to medical concerns.
  • We will not operate on animals with heart murmurs.
  • We will not operate on male animals with retained testicles.
  • We will not operate on animals with severe upper respiratory infections.
  • Surgery dates are subject to change due to weather and/or veterinarian availability.
  • Since patients will be staying at the shelter the evening before surgery, fasting is not necessary.
  • Allow 15 minutes at time of drop-off/check-in to fill out paperwork.
  • Please call if you are unable to make your scheduled appointment PRIOR to appointment time.

*If 3 or more animals are scheduled for surgery on the same day, from the same household, a 10% discount is applicable (Rabies vaccinations, dog licenses, and microchips are not included in 10% discount).

****We will only spay dogs under 125#.

HomeAgain Microchips:

HomeAgain Microchips are available for a fee of $40.00 each ($30.00 each when accompanying a spay or neuter surgery). Microchips are a permanent form of identification, the size of a grain of rice, implanted between your pet's shoulder blades. Ninety percent of animals lost, without identification, never return home. Please do not let your pet become a statistic, please call and make your appointment today!
